MAXIMILLIANO MAREZ SAN JUAN– Maximilliano Marez, 78, died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at his residence in San Juan. Born in Pharr, he had lived in San Juan all of his life. Maximilliano was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish and the proud owner of Marez Barber Shop in San Juan. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Manuela G. Marez; a daughter, Norma Linda Cano; and parents, Eugenio and Perfecta Marez. Maximilliano is survived by his eight children, Juan Angel (Tony) Marez, Estela Marez, Maryann Marez, all of San Juan, Nora (Manuel) Garza, Leo (Iris) Zuniga, both of Alamo, Eugenio (Gracie Rubio) Marez, of Harlingen, Rene (Yvette) Marez, of Sherman, Texas, and Mario (Angie) Marez, of Houston, Texas; a son-in-law, Robert Cano, of Alamo; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
