CHRISTINA LUERA
PHARR – Christina Luera, 86, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at her residence in Pharr.Born in Pharr she had lived there all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Anastacio Luera, Sr.; a son, Anastacio Luera, Jr.; her parents, Encarnacion and Paz Zamarripa; a granddaughter, Christy Cortez; three sisters, Victoria Zamarripa, Felicita Rocha, Tomasa Torres; and a brother, Demetrio Zamarripa.
Christina is survived by five children, Ramiro (Norma) Luera, Norma Cortez, Rogelio (Dinora) Luera, Irene (Juan) Alvarez, all of Pharr, Maria (Joe) Sloss of Alamo; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gretudes Garza of Donna.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
