LUCIA ALANIZ
EDINBURG –Lucia A. Alaniz, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 16,2026, at her residence in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Hermelinda Elizondo; and six siblings.
Luicia is survived by her five children, Marina Alaniz Cruz, Arturo Alaniz, Graciela Alaniz Sturdivant, Leonel Alaniz Jr., Idalia Alaniz; five grandchildren, Jose David Macias, Clarissa Nicole Macias, Andrea Lauren Alaniz, Arturo Aaron Alaniz, Scarlett Diane Sturdivant and Olyver Ted Sturdivant ; four great-grandchildren, Sebastian Hilario Macias, Natalia Teresa Macias, Amira Lucia Macias and Benjamin Macias; and one sister, Hermelinda Garcia .
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11am, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg, with a 11:30 a.m. mass Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
