LORENA RIVERA
HIDALGO- Lorena Rivera, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alfonso and Lorenza Maldonado.
Lorena is survived by her husband Diego Luis Rivera; Five children, Apolonia (Samuel) Rivera Jnobaptiste, Lorena Rivera, Maria Apolonia Rivera, Diego Alfonso (Maria Del Carmen) Rivera, and Tania (Jose V. Jr) Garza; 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren, six siblings, Ramiro Maldonado, Edmundo Maldonado, Aracely Vela, Dina Anzaldua, Alma Muro and Anabel Maldonado.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., May 22, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hidalgo. Interment will follow at Hidalgo City cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
