GLORIA JEAN LAUGHLIN
ALAMO - Gloria Jean Laughlin, 64, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at her residence in Alamo.
Born in Pittsburg, Texas, Mrs. Laughlin was raised in Perryville, Texas and had lived in Alamo most of her life. She was employed as a sales representative at Magic Valley Studios, a family owned business. She graduated from Union Hill High School. Mrs. Laughlin was a homemaker for most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her father, JW Lillard; her mother, Mary Evelyn Hallonquist; and her step-father, Rack Hallonquist.
Mrs. Laughlin is survived by her husband, Jerry Lynn Laughlin of Alamo; three daughters, Debbie (Efren) Flores, Donna Suanne (Marc) Yracheta, both of McAllen, and Dara Laughlin Casas of Alamo; six grandchildren, Travis Gorena, Amanda Laughlin, Alec Casas, Ryan Heath Flores, Marc Andrew Yracheta and Angel Sanchez; her stepmother, Janetta Lillard of Alamo; a brother, Jerry (Robin) Lillard of McAllen; four sisters, Linda (Ray) Hare of Dayton, Texas, Donna (Danny) Layman of Holly Lake, Texas, Cynthia Clower of Perryville, Texas and JoAnna (Joe) Munoz of McAllen.
Family was always the most important thing to her. She had the most incredible impact in the lives of so many. She was also known for the delicious desserts she brought during the holidays. Gloria Jean married the love of her life, Jerry Lynn. They had known each other since the age of ten. Gloria Jean will be missed by many people. We can only be grateful for the time we've had with her.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Pallbearers will be Danny Layman, Troy Smethers, Jason Laughlin, Justin Garza, Travis Gorena and Ray Hare.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
