JOSE SALOMON SALAS

EDINBURG – Jose Salomon Salas, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his residence in Edinburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Modesto and Micaela Salas; six siblings, Teodora, Carmen, Josefa, Irene, Luis, and Jose Encarnacion.

Mr. Salas is survived by his wife, Amelia R. Salas; seven children, Jose Salomon (Norma) Salas Jr., Jose Ismael (Alisia) Salas, Moises (Sylvia) Salas, Monica Salas (Ernest), Veronica Salas (Silverio), Adrian (Julie) Salas, Eric (Estrella) Salas; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Jorge, Eusebio, and Alberto.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Alfaro, Isaiah Salas, Adrian Salas Jr., Jose Ismael Salas Jr., Moises Salas Jr., and Gino Garcia.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Salas Jr. and Jakobe Reyes.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
