Javier Sloss, 56, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
He was a proud veteran who served in the US Army. Javier was a man who always smiled and made sure the room laughed and smiled with him or at him. He was a loving father, an amazing grandfather, and giving person of joy and laughter to all he crossed paths with.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Artemio Sloss.
Javier is survived by his wife, Maria Villegas; five children, Trisha (Albert Garcia) Sloss, Javier (Jennika) Sloss Jr., Jeremy (Anette) Sloss, Josiah Sloss, Jayden Sloss; four granddaughters, Jolyn Sloss, Jaylah Sloss, Jenevieve Sloss, Juliette Sloss; his first grandson on the way; mother, Juana Sloss; brother, Jose (Lupita) Sloss Jr.; sister, Soraida (Reynaldo) Salinas; and nieces and nephews who he was a proud uncle to.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
