Edinburg – James E. Branch, 73, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance.

James was a man who lived at the intersection of sound and story. His life’s work was a harmony of three distinct passions: the craftsmanship of his music store, the patience of his teaching studio, and the discipline of his writing desk. Whether he was guiding a child through their first scale, curating the perfect instrument for a local professional, or distilling a lifetime of wisdom into his 26 published books, James was driven by a single, beautiful purpose—to make the gift of music accessible, understandable, and enduring for everyone he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Barbara Branch; a sister, Gween Clemmins; and a grandson, Justin Branch.

James is survived by his wife, Patricia Weaver Branch; daughter, Nicole (Art) Treviño; two grandchildren, Sydney Branch and Price Gibson; great- granddaughter, Simon Hernandez; two sisters, Nancy Swanson and Carol Welsch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and lunch will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Citrus Mobile Home Club House in Edinburg.

Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
