DONNA - Ismael "Smiley" Aleman, 43, died Friday, March 6, 2026 in Alamo.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Francisco H. Garcia; and his grandmother, Cecilia Q. Garcia.
Mr. Aleman is survived by his mother, Evelia G. Cantu; three siblings, Anette A. Herrera, Eloy S. Aleman, Oscar L. Aleman; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
