SAN JUAN- Irene Noriega, 54, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Evangelina Gamboa.
Irene is survived by her husband, Gerardo Noriega; two children, Jose Antonio (Cate) Gamboa Jr. and Kassandra Nicole Hernandez; grandchild, Evelyn Irene Gamboa: and fifteen siblings, Rene (Elisa) Garay, Gabrial (Andrea) Garay, Roger (Candelaria) Garay, Mary (Esteban)Mariscal, San Juanita Gamboa, Gloria (Martin) Santos ,Victoria (Kees)Ras, Rosario (Refugio) Bustos, Rosalina (Roberto)Cano, Miguel Gamboa, Pedro (Diana) Gamboa, Cayetano Gamboa, Martin (Maricruz) Gamboa and Jose Antonio Gamboa.
Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Palm Valley Church in Mission
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
