INOCENCIO DIAZ
EDINBURG – Inocencio Diaz, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his residence in Edinburg.
Mr. Diaz spent most of his life working as a truck driver. On May 8, 1990, he was ordained as a deacon at Holy Family Catholic Church, answering a higher calling with the same faith and devotion that guided his life.
He was known for taking all the neighborhood kids fishing, which was his most loved hobby. He loved decorating his home for Christmas inside and out and did it with such joy and pride. He was ready to go by the end of the night of Thanksgiving Day.
Inocencio was so full of life and loved to joke and had a comeback for any saying advanced towards him, of course always with a joking comeback. He was a real jokester and always had people laughing during their conversations. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Apolonia Diaz; and numerous siblings.
Mr. Diaz is survived by his wife, Eulalia Diaz; four children, Inocencio (Neida) Diaz Jr., Imelda (Martin) Marin, Javier (+Cynthia) Diaz, Francisco Diaz; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Olivia Tello.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
