Hermelinda "Melin" Rodriguez

EDINBURG – Hermelinda “Melin” Rodriguez, 84, died Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

She is preceded in death by her son, Ernesto Puentes; and her parents, Odilon Rodriguez and Apolonia Barcenas.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her children, Jose Guadalupe Puentes, Javier (Rosa Elia Martinez) Puentes, Ruben (Maria Rosario Garcia) Puentes, Rogelio Puentes, Bertha Alicia Puentes, Maria Teresa Puentes, Ricardo Puentes, Marco Antonio Puentes; 30 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Friday, February 20, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
