ELISSA R. GUERRERO
PHARR - Elissa R. Guerrero, 84, passed away to be with the Lord on August 11, 2009 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born on May 25, 1925 in Pharr, Mrs. Guerrero had lived there all her life and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr. She worked 24 years for the PSJA ISD as a Community Aide until her retirement in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Guerrero; a son, Juan Guerrero; a daughter, Estela Guerrero; her parents, Francisco and Gertrudis Rosales; three sisters, Hermelinda R. Cantu, Magdalena Rosales and Esmeralda Rosales; five brothers, Jose Rosales, Francisco Rosales, Juan Rosales, Israel Rosales and Aaron Rosales.
Mrs. Guerrero is survived by two sons, Jose Roberto (Irma) Guerrero and Jose Erasmo Guerrero, both of Pharr; three grandchildren, Francisco Guerrero, II, Jose Roberto Guerrero, Jr., and Cristina Guerrero; a great-grandchild, Vittoria Guerrero; a brother, Ruben Rosales Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, August 13, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2009 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Ruben Rosales, Jr., Juan I. Rosales, Ricardo Rosales, Fernando Rosales, Francisco Guerrero, II, and Jose Roberto Guerrero, Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
