Derek Anthony Guerra, 24, died Friday, October 27, 2017, at his residence in Alamo.
Born in McAllen, he had lived in Alamo all of his life.
Derek is survived by his mother, Sandra (Miguel Angel) Lozano; his father, Fernando (Maria) Guerra; three brothers, Nicolas Guerra, Robert Guerra, Steven Guerra; maternal grandparents, Martha and Juan Ocanas; paternal grandparents, Isabel and Andres Marroquin; his aunt, Michelle (Christopher) Garza; cousins, Brandon Lee, Christopher Allen, Damien Alexander, Alexus Jewel; step-siblings, Gabriel Alejandro (Britni) Lozano, Mirian Judit (Jason) Venegas, Rafael Andres Lozano; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and second cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
