Guadalupe "Lupe" Davila

EDINBURG- Guadalupe “Lupe” Davila, 54, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at McAllen Medical Center.

Lupe will be fondly remembered through his love of football, support in all of his children's endeavors, and devotion to his catholic faith.  He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and could always be counted on to enjoy watching a game alongside his son and family.  

Family time was of utmost importance to him whether it be BBQing, cheering on his children, or spending some quality time at his parent's home. Lupe's legacy will forever be evident in his children and the values he instilled in them from an early age; faith, compassion, family, and kindness.  

Lupe leaves a space that can never be filled, but through the grace of God, our father almighty, and through the faith of his family, we are sure to once again reunite with him in glory. 

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"      2 Timothy 4:7

He is preceded in death by a brother, Santiago Davila.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Sandra Gutierrez; five children, Guadalupe Davila Jr., Maritza Davila, Samantha Davila, Valentina Davila, Roman Davila; parents, Candelario and Guadalupe Davila; five siblings, Rosalita (Jocque) Garcia, Andres (Juanita) Davila, Pedro Davila, Candelario Davila Jr., Maria (Jonathan) Collins; sister-in-law, Stella Davila; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.  Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Francis Cabrini Xavier Catholic Church in Hargill.  Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
