Grabiela T. Garcia, 89, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Windsor Arbor View in Edinburg, TX.
Grabiela was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by love, family, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. For 89 years, she created a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Grabiela will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family and for the memories she created throughout her 89 years of life. Her greatest joy was her family, and her love, strength, and presence will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that the love she shared with them will remain in their hearts forever.

Grabiela’s family will honor her life with love, gratitude, and cherished memories, forever thankful for the years they were blessed to have her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otilo Garcia; her parents, Pablo and Agripina Treviño; her siblings, Guadalupe “Lupe”, Roman, Eugenio, Filomeno, and Israel; her granddaughter, Cindy Lee; her grandson, Isaiah Alexander; and her son-in-law, Mario Peña.
Grabiela leaves behind a beautiful and lasting legacy in the family she loved so deeply. She is survived by her eight children, Mary (Ruben) De Leon, Juanita (Cristiano Mendoza) Garcia, Diana Peña, Otilo Garcia Jr., Pablo J. (Susan) Garcia, Lupe (Letty G.) Garcia, Tony (Joshua Scerlip) Garcia, and Amy J. (Alex) Reyes; her love continues through her 15 grandchildren, Ruben Jr. (Jodi), Rebecca (Mykal), Loria (Patrick), Stephanie (Lorenzo), Mario Jr. (Gabby), Isaiah (Saul), Maria Elena (Trance), Matilda (Jeremy), Victor, Alexander, Bianca (Eulalio III), Krista (Roel), David, Lucas, Nico; as well as her 14 great-grandchildren, Precious, Calvin, Amber, Abby, L.J., Adrian, Taylor, Emma, Alejandro, Trase, Santiago, Jordyn, Roman, and Ariella.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ruben De Leon Jr., Mario Pena Jr., David Garcia, Alexander Garcia, Isaiah Pena, Victor Garcia.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
