MCALLEN – Arturo Gomez Jr., 75, went home to our Lord Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in Mexico, Mr. Gomez had lived in McAllen most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War.
Mr. Gomez is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Petra Gomez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma Gomez of McAllen; three sons, Jorge (Renee) Gomez of Grand Marais, MN, Martin (Vicky) Gomez of Mission, Marco Antonio (Stacey) Gomez of Round Rock, TX; six grandchildren; two siblings, Hector Gomez of Pharr, and Linda Cano of McAllen.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
