GILBERTO HERNANDEZ
McAllen – Gilberto Hernandez, 88, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his residence in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Herminia Hernandez; and one brother, Guadalupe (Ninfa) Hernandez.
Gilberto is survived by his wife, Elva Garcia De Hernandez; five children, Elva (Allen R.) Wilson, Norma (Eloy Elizondo) Gonzalez, Gilberto Hernandez, Veronica Torres, Mario (Vanessa) Hernandez; 11 grandchildren; and two siblings, Hector Hernandez and Dorina Uribe.
A gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Celebration of Life Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
