Gilberto "Gil" Garza

Gilberto “Gil” Garza , 64 years old, entered eternal peace on Monday, May 5, 2025 at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg.

Gil was born on August 28, 1960 in San Juan, Tx to the late Simon and Lazara Leija Garza. He was a boisterous, charismatic and extremely generous man. That is the best way Gil can be described. He made his presence known and felt every time he was in the room with his energy and contagious laughter. Whether you saw him daily or hardly ever, he made sure you knew he saw you nothing less than family. His jokes will be missed, and his laugh will always stay with everyone who knew him. He will live on through stories of the jokes he told, how he spoke in musical lyrics, and the memories he created within many lives he touched!

He is preceded in death by his parents Simon and Lazara Leija Garza and his oldest brother Luis (Tony) Garza. Gil is survived by his siblings Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Garza, Esteban Garza and Rebecca (Fred) Fernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many, many many wonderful friends!
