Gerald Jay Solis

EDINBURG – Gerald Jay Solis, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his residence in Edinburg. 

Gerald was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He took pride in making the Leo Najo baseball league team in his younger years as well as being a volunteer firefighter at the Edinburg Fire Department. He also enjoyed his time as an educator with the Edinburg CISD. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gumecindo and Eleanor Solis; and brother, Alfred Solis.

Mr. Solis is survived by his former wife, Luz Solis; three children, Eleanor Inez Solis, Dr. Gerald Jay Solis, Jr., Elaine Marie Solis; six grandchildren; five siblings, Carol (Solis) Clark, Nora Traves, Rodney Solis, Diana Hester, and Yvette Solis Benavides. 

Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
