GEORGINA R. FLORES

EDINBURG – Georgina R. Flores, 95, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at The Bridges at Edinburg.

Georgina was born in Edinburg on April 2, 1930, to Albino and Rita Reyna. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1948 and from Pan American College with a degree in Education. Mrs. Flores taught in the Edinburg School District for 30 years as an elementary and Junior High Teacher. She married her high school sweetheart, R.C. (Fito) Flores on November 25, 1953, and they had 3 children, Robert, Michael and Lucy.

Georgina had a vivacious personality and never met a stranger. She loved to bake and shop. She was involved in her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church by serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister and Baptism class instructor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, R.C. (Fito) Flores; son, Robert Flores; siblings, Maximo Reyna, Antonio Reyna, Camilo Reyna, Gertrudes (Tula) Muñoz, and Consuelo (Connie) Nesbitt.

Mrs. Flores is survived by her two children, Michael D. Flores, Lucy Flores (Arnold) Sanchez; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was especially blessed to have had a household helper, Concepcion Montoya for 60 years, who was a loyal and trusted friend and is considered a part of the Flores family.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
