MATIAS G. GARZA
PHARR - Matias G. Garza, 73, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in Agua Dulce, Texas, Mr. Garza was formerly of Los Banos, California and had lived in Pharr for the past 23 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gumecindo and Aquilina Garza; three brothers, Vidal Garza, Pablo Rodriguez and Carlos Garza.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Armandina Garza of Pharr; six children, Odilia Martinez of Pharr, Delia (Rolando) Alaniz of Mission, Ricardo A. Garza of Poteet, Texas, Matias (Yolanda) Garza, Jr. of Los Banos, California, Gumesindo Garza of Los Angeles, California and Francisco (Melissa) Garza of Alton; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernesto Garza of Pharr, Celestino Garza of Los Banos, California; and a sister, Feliciana Cano of Hermiston, Oregon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm talk, today, April 23, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9 am, Friday, April 24, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
