Maria L. Garza

ALAMO — Maria L. Garza, 91, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Senior Care in Edinburg. Born in Alamo, Mrs. Garza had lived there all her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Garza; two sons, Salvador Garza Jr. and Eddie Garza; parents, Guadalupe and Ponciano Lopez; two sisters, Virginia Rendon and Eulalia Quiroz. Maria is survived by four children, Aurora Rios of Edinburg, Roberto (Susan) Garza of Alamo, Sandra Linda (Robert) Calles, Ernesto (Debbie) Garza both of Austin, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Vicente Chapa; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 27, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
