HERLINDA "LINDA" GARZA
ALAMO - Herlinda (Linda) Garza went home to the Lord Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the age of 85 surrounded by her loving family. This is not the end of her journey but the transition to life with God.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Nestor Garza Sr. and seven siblings.
Left to treasure her memory are her four children, Melda (Kelly) Hazel of Alexandria, VA, Elma Amigo of San Diego, CA, Nestor Garza Jr. of Alamo, Ernesto (Lizette) Garza of San Antonio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Julian Perales of Alamo; sister, Amanda Contreras of San Juan; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was the happiest when surrounded by family and took great pride in her children, who she considered her proudest accomplishment.
We pay tribute to our mother Linda as the loving matriarch of our family, whose life was an example of extraordinary faith, quite courage, and a tower of strength leaving behind footprints of fond memories. We are at peace knowing our parents are together again living life with God.
On Herlinda's behalf, we like to thank the DHR Hospice team, the exceptional nursing and CNA staff at Heights of Alamo and her devoted care givers - Imelda Villalobos, Irma Alanis, Lucy Villalobos, Eva Lopez, Caleb and Ivan Alonzo for their dedicated and selfless support.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
