FRANCISCO "PANCHITO" GARZA
PHARR - Francisco "Panchito" Garza, 85, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Pharr, Mr. Garza had lived there all of his life and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nora R. Garza; an infant son, David Garza; his parents, Silvestre Garza and Eustolia Garza Rodriguez; and three brothers, Rosendo, Pepe and Pilo Garza.
Mr. Garza is survived by four children, Francisco (Sandra) Garza, Jr., Rosalinda G. (Ubaldo) Ramirez, Ricardo (Maria Guadalupe) Garza, all of Pharr and Oscar (Maria ) Garza of Alamo; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesus "Jesse" Rodriguez of Streator, Illinois; and a sister, Trina Torres of Aurora, Illinois.
A rosary was held Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., today, March 20, 2009 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
