Ercilia Z. Garcia

ERCILIA Z. GARCIA PHARR- Ercilia Z. Garcia, 82, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at her residence in Pharr. She was born in Pharr and had lived there all of her life, and was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Garcia; a daughter, Elizabeth Margaret Garcia; and a brother, Erasmo Zuniga. Mrs. Garcia is survived by three children, Lorenzo Javier Garcia, of Houston, Anna Martha Hammond, and Gerardo Roel Garcia, both of Pharr; four grandchildren, Eric Javier, Jennifer Andrea, Lauren Alina, Sabrina; one great-grandchild; one brother, Elias Zuniga; a sister, Olivia Garcia. A special thanks to her personal caretaker, Esperanza Ortiz and to Maria Luisa Trevino for all their help. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
