MARIA ELIDA GARCIA
EDINBURG – Maria Elida Garcia, 59, died Monday, September 20, 2010, at her residence in Edinburg.
Mrs. Garcia was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had lived in Edinburg since 1994.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Garica, a brother, Juan Torres and parents, Juan Antonio Torres and Maria Torres Zavala.
Mrs. Garcia is survived by four children, Elida Garcia, Ivonne Solis, Jose Garcia, and Jessica Garcia all of Edinburg; three grandchildren; her siblings, Roberto Torres and Roel Torres both of Detroit, Michigan, Bertha Chapa of Mission, Mary Torres, Elvira Torres, Argelia Salinas, Yolanda Guerra, and Diana Torres all of Chicago, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 22, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
