Librada Ramirez Galvan, 92, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, our beautiful mother went home and is now rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong resident of Edinburg.
She leaves us with a legacy of selflessness, generosity and thoughtfulness that was nothing short of God’s commandment to love one another. She leaves a beautiful path of memories and love. Our hearts are filled with hope that we will one day see our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and inspiration on the golden streets.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Santana Galvan; parents, Jacinto and Sofia Ramirez; brother, Magdaleno Ramirez; sister, Adelina Salinas; grandson, Gabriel Cormier.
Librada is survived by her seven children, Maria Del Rosario “Challo” (Tim) Cormier, Joel M. (Pat) Galvan, Priscilla (+Robert) Tijerina, Nora (John) Polanis, Arnoldo (Marisela) Galvan, Rosalinda (Israel) Rodriguez, Norberto (Gris) Galvan; 17 grandchildren; 23, great-grandchildren; and a sister, Guadalupe Davila.
The family would like to give special thanks to Rosa Maria Morales for her unconditional loving care.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
