Francisca Reyna Cantu

Francisca Reyna Cantu - March 9, 1928 - August 2, 2024 

Francisca R. Cantu, 96, of Alamo, TX passed to her eternal life in Pueblo, CO on August 2, 2024. 

Francisca was born in Donna, TX to parents Juan and Rita Reyna. She was one of 11 siblings whom she cherished and adored. Francisca was married to Rodolfo A. Cantu for 64 years. In that time, she dedicated her life to her marriage, her four children, grandchildren, work, family and friends. Francisca enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, spending time with her family and friends, and her many hobbies that included needlework, sewing, gardening, painting and cooking. 

Francisca R. Cantu is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rodolfo A. Cantu; her daughter, Amparo Romero; parents, Juan and Rita Reyna; brothers, Lazaro, Elies, Julian, Basilio, Jesus, Esequiel, Julian II; and sisters, Benita, Juanita and Elida; in-laws, Alfredo and Antonia Cantu; sons-in-law, Donald Romero and Monico “Chuck” Vega; and daughter-in-law, Roquel Cantu.

She is survived by her son, Eduardo Cantu; daughters, Amalia Vega and Aurora (Tim) O’Toole; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Francisca is also survived by numerous close relatives, God children and friends. 

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, August 12, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

The family of Francisca would like to thank the care providers at Villa Pueblo for their continuous care and a very heartfelt thanks to Molly Duran for her companionship and friendship to Francisca while at Villa Pueblo. The family would also like to thank the entire family and staff.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
