Florentino David Perez
Edinburg-Florentino David Perez age 77, of Edinburg, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026 at North Houston Transitional Care in Houston, Texas
David was born August 6, 1948, in Edinburg, Texas, to the late Florentino Perez and Ofilia J. Perez.
David is survived by his sister, Diana L. Rodriguez and husband J.J. Rodriguez and their children Celena Spiegelhauer, husband Kevin Spiegelhauer and Children Kyle, Riley and Addisson Spiegelhauer, Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez-Auzenne and husband, Dr. Greg Auzenne and their children Seth and Sean Auzenne, and John Rodriguez and wife, Cindy Rodriguez and children Ava and Adalynn Rodriguez.
David worked in the tire and fuel industry and was a rancher raising cattle for numerous years. David served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. A proud veteran of the United States Army, David served with distinction during the Vietnam War. For his meritorious service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also received the National Defense Service Medal for his dedication to his country during a time of conflict.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. A Mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
