EDINBURG - Fernando Ruiz Nery, 73, passed away Saturday, April 19,2025, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Rodolfo Ruiz Jr.; his parents, Rafael Ruiz and Maria Nery.

Mr. Ruiz Nery is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Ruiz; four children, Maria Guadalupe (Guadalupe Daniel) Reyes, Fernando (Silvia) Ruiz Jr., Rodolfo (+Ana) Ruiz, Wendy (German) Gallegos; 11 grandchildren, Guadalupe D. Reyes Jr., Denise Reyes, Damian Reyes, Darren Reyes, Frida Ruiz, Natalie Ruiz, Marvin Ruiz, Alexis Ruiz, Monzerrat Gallegos, Santiel Gallegos, Ander Gallegos; six great-grandchildren, Sebastian Reyes, Danika Reyes, Dariel Reyes, Dalila Reyes, Anthony Gamez, Leonardo Gomez; eight siblings, Rosario Leal, Georgina Rodriguez, Estela Ruiz, Rafael Ruiz, Juan Ruiz, Maria Guadalupe Cardona, Berta Castro, and Jorge Ruiz.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
