Ernest Harrell Jr.

Ernest Harrell Jr., 93, entered eternal rest Friday, December 1, 2023, at McAllen Heart Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest B. Harrell and Sarah Catherine Harrell; a son, Jay Harrell and granddaughter Morgan Harrell; a brother, James Harrell and a sister, Catherine Harrell Delovich. Ernest is survived by his wife, Lorraine Harrell and a sister, Betty Harrell Dunavin. His four children by his first marriage to Shirley Thompson Harrell include Max Harrell, Mark Harrell, Jeris Harrell Hamm (Kenny) , and Jan Harrell Young (Steve). Mr. Harrell’s sixteen grandchildren include James Harrell, Jason Harrell, Kelley Harrell Miles, Sarah Harrell Spurgeon, Benjamin Harrell, Robert Harrell, Jared Austin Hamm, Jacob Hamm, Julie Hamm Doyle, Terry Presson, Christopher Matheny, Steven Cody Matheny, Stephen Young, Joel Ernest Young, Taylor Harrell, Courtland Harrell Nall (Hunter). Ernie’s 28 great-grandchildren include: Lauren Harrell, Luke Harrell, Joshua Harrell, Nathan Harrell, Elise Harrell, Marissa Harrell, Katelyn Miles Gonzalez, Isaiah Miles, Griffin Hanen, Phoenix Spurgeon, Jackson Spurgeon, Jamison Spurgeon, Madelyn Spurgeon, Parker Harrell, River Harrell, Lucas Hamm, Adrienne Hamm, William Parker Hamm, Caleb Hamm, Colin Hamm, Dillon Doyle, Darby Doyle, Justus Presson, Josiah Matheny, Tori Matheny, Penelope Matheny, Patrick Matheny, Hawkins Nall. His one great-great grandson is Elliott James Miles. A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, Tennessee.
