EDINBURG- Elvira B. Tijerina, 94, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Edinburg. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Tijerina; son, Arturo Tijerina; daughter, Consuelo Tijerina, parents: Jose Rios Nicolas II and Maria Felicitas Falcon Balli, numerous brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Tijerina is survived by her seven children, Gloria (Ernesto+) Crisostomo, Maria V. (Raul L.) Ortega, Ida (Mario) Salinas, Rudy (Violanda) Tijerina, Melva (Marcos III) Hernandez, Yolanda (Rene) Ybarra, Nora (Oswaldo) Sanchez; daughter-in-law, Socorro Tijerina; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1701 E. Richardson Rd in Edinburg.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Paul Crisostomo, Raul Ortega III, Fernando Chapa, Marcos Hernandez IV, Jeremy Koester, Rene Ybarra Jr., Randy Ybarra, Oswaldo Sanchez II.  Honorary pallbearers; Arturo Tijerina Jr., Ralph Tijerina, Martin Tijerina, Robert Tijerina, Micheal Peter Crisostomo, Michael Roy Salinas, Stephen Eugene Gavito, Rudy Tijerina Jr., Justin Hernandez, and Juan Armando Cadena.

The family of Elvira B. Tijerina, would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Windsor Arbor View in Edinburg. Thank you for the 8 years of compassionate care provided to our mother!

 Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
