ALAMO - Elva Vela Flores, 79, died Thursday April 23, 2026, at McAllen Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Odon Vela and Maria Bartola Flores.
Elva is survived by her children, Sandra (Cristobal) Garcia, Maribel (Vidal) Gutierrez, Javier (Maria) Martinez, Juan De Dios (Cecilia) Martinez, Isaias Raul Martinez; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sullivan City Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
