She is preceded in death by her husband, Hector de la Garza; parents, Eugenio G. Calvillo and Maria R. Garza Calvillo; five siblings, Esperanza Salazar, Estela Saenz, Ester Ariaz, Eva Gloria Lopez, and Eugenio "Gene" Calvillo.
Mrs. de la Garza is survived by her two daughters, Diana (John Robert "Bob") Kaufold, Dina Marie (George) Castañeda; three grandchildren, John Robert "Jack" Kaufold II, Alissa Renae Castañeda, Paul Michael Castañeda; sister, Elida Rodriguez; four nieces, Yvette Cantu, Nelda Saenz, Elda Canaba, Linda Galvan and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, March 25, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. noon Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
The family would like to thank South Texas Health System, DHR Health Hospice, Memorial Funeral Home, Valley Veterans Cemetery, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church for their unwavering support.
