EDINBURG – Elio Lopez, 94, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his residence in Edinburg.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Minerva Lopez; parents, Pablo and Maria Lopez; three siblings, Hijinio Lopez, Mario Lopez, and Elma Lopez.

Mr. Lopez is survived by his seven children, Margarita L. (Rayburn) Byrum, Pablo (Esmeralda) Lopez, Asusena Lopez, Elio (Elia) Lopez, Cristina Lopez, Saul (Diana) Lopez, Eloy (Sandy) Lopez; three grandchildren, Arabella Lopez, Lillian Lopez, Diego Lopez; four siblings, Jesus Lopez, Roble Garza, Estela Lopez, Asusena Rodriguez; and sister-in-law, Carmelita Lopez.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
