Dora Alicia Matias De Ferrer

Dora Alicia Matias, 68 passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her residence in Nederland, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jose De Jesus Ferrer; her parents, Teodora Nava Matias and Eduardo Matias; three siblings, Isabel Sarinana, Maria Magdalena Vasquez and Walfred Matias.

Dora is survived by her six children, Jose Eduardo Ferrer, Marlen Ferrer, Dora Karen Matias, Yesenia Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez, Jr., Yajaira Gamez; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five siblings, Eduardo Matias, Gabriel Matias, Hermelinda Matias, Sara Villa, Alejandrina Ruiz.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, June 12, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
