CATALINA DE LEON HERRERA
EDINBURG – Catalina De Leon Herrera, 89, went to be with Our Lord, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 surrounded by all her loving family. She was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, she had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
Catalina (Juanita) is preceded in death by her loving husband, Matias Herrera and her son Ramiro (Piwa) Herrera.
She is survived by twelve (12) children, Matias (Gloria Ester) Herrera Jr. of Edinburg, Rosa Maria (†Rodrigo) Ramon Jr. of McAllen, Gloria (Guadalupe) Riojas of McAllen, Ruben (Evangelina) Herrera, Martha Rhodes of Houston, Mario Herrera, Rogelio (Karina) Herrera of Edinburg, Jaime Herrera, Marianela (Carlos) Chavira, Sylvia (Delfino) Chavira, Baldemar (†Maribel) Herrera all from Edinburg and Armando Herrera of Dallas. Twenty seven (27) grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and three (3) great-great-grandchildren.
Juanita, as everybody called her, loved to be around her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. Her home was full of laughter and that was what made her happy. She loved gardening, her matas as she called all her plants. Loved feeding her chickens, roosters and peacocks. She loved all of God’s creatures in general.
She will be greatly missed for her unconditional love for her family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Thursday, May 31st, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg, TX.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 pm Friday, June 1st, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
