MANUEL CONTRERAS
ALAMO - Manuel Contreras, 70, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
Born in Alamo, Mr. Contreras had there all of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Eligia Contreras; and three brothers, Alonso, Francisco and Luis Contreras.
Mr. Contreras is survived by his wife, Maria V. Contreras of Alamo; three children, Rosario (Jose) Gallegos of San Juan, Gabriela (Marin) Belmares and Manuel Contreras, Jr., both of Alamo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother, Jose Contreras of Alamo; and two sisters, Olivia Martinez of Donna and Irene Hernandez of Woodlake, California.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, April 11, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
