Cidelia “Nena” Gonzalez Gorena, 96, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Noe Juan Gorena Sr.; a son, Noe Juan Gorena Jr.; parents, Hermenegildo Pena Gonzalez and Eladia Chapa Gonzalez; five siblings, Alonso Gonzalez, Anita Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, Angelica De La Garza, and David Gonzalez.
Mrs. Gonzalez Gorena is survived by her two children, Belinda Gorena (Rene) Flores, David Rene (Gloria Jean) Gorena; eight grandchildren, Noe Juan (Rachel) Gorena III, Anthony Jude (Iliana) Gorena, Priscilla (Agapito) Lopez, Amy Renee (Morgan) Hull, Samuel David Gorena, Sarah Elizabeth (Michael) Mena, Amanda Renee (Ryen) Peck, Katherine Rae (Luke) Treece; eight great-grandchildren, Joseph, Marley, David Douglas, Ryder Laine, Nicholas, Dominic, Juliana, Alesondra; two great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Jace; a sister, Elida Gonzalez Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service on Friday, January 12, 2023, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
