RIO GRANDE CITY – Cesario “Charrito” Balderas, 103, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence in Rio Grande City.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Balderas; four children, Mauro Balderas, Ramiro Balderas, San Juanita Balderas, Adan Balderas; siblings, Sylvia B. Perez, Guadalupe B. Vera and Gabino Balderas, Sr., and a great-grandson, Abram Seth Cantu.
Mr. Balderas is survived by his six children, Salvador Balderas, Maria Esmeralda Mares, Ruben Balderas, Ricardo Balderas, Fidel Balderas, Jose Pilar Balderas; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-granddaughter, Emery Andy Longoria; nieces and nephews, Linda B. (Luis J.) Rodriguez, Albert (Isabel) Balderas, Sylvia B. (Edward) Gonzalez, Dalia Balderas, Irma B. (Arnold) Martinez, and Janie B. (Frank) Moreno.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Balderas Ranch Cemetery in Edinburg, Texas.
