ALAMO- Cecilio “Tio Vache” Contreras, 96, died Sunday, May 25, 2025, at San Juan Nursing Home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Natalia Contreras.

Cecilio is survived by his wife, Faustina Contreras; nine children, Evangelina (Agustin) De La Torre, Nicolas (Guadalupe) Contreras, Raul (Maria Del Carmen) Contreras, Margarita (Francisco) Meza, Cecilia (Jesus) Estrada, Maria De La Luz (Angel) Lozano, Guadalupe (Sidrefonio) Casas, Fernando (Maribel) Contreras, Faustino (Maria Isabel) Contreras; 31 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and five siblings.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
