CATHERINE "CATHY" ANN OCHOA

EDINBURG-Our beloved daughter and sister Catherine "Cathy" Ann Ochoa, 56, passed away on March 7, 2026, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg.

Cathy is survived by her parents, Jose Alejandro and Irma G. Ochoa; her siblings, Joe Alex (Julie) Ochoa and Sandra M. Ochoa; nephew, Jose Alejandro III; and nieces Audrey Marie Ochoa and Lauren Ann Ochoa; and Diana Mason, a special cousin and fierce protector. Also surviving her are an aunt, Sofia Castellano; and uncle, Alberto (Yolanda) Ochoa; and numerous cousins .

Cathy was a proud product of her community. After graduating from Edinburg High School, she went on to attend the University of Pan American (now UTRGV). Driven by a desire to serve others, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Her career was more than just a job; it was an extension of her compassionate nature, providing a voice for the vulnerable and support for those in need.

To know Cathy was to know a love that was fierce and unwavering. She was the heart of her circle, protecting and cheering for her family and friends with a loyalty that knew no bounds. She loved to dance, loved family gatherings and sporting events. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. A mass will take place Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
