MARIA CONCEPCION "LA BORRADA" CASTANEDA
PHARR - Maria Concepcion "La Borrada" Castaneda, 85, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at her residence in Pharr.
Born in Mercedes, Mrs. Castaneda had lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr.
Mrs. Castaneda is survived by a son, Javier (Olga Marisol) Castaneda of Pharr; a daughter, Maria (Bonifacio) Lopez of Alamo; four grandchildren, Mary A. (Ismael) Cano, Armando (Janie) Lopez, Javier (JoAnn) Lopez and Leticia (Raul Jr.) Salinas; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and former spouse, Ramiro Castaneda of Donna.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, April 19, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 am, Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Pallbearers will be Gus Lopez, Fide Garcia, Armando Lopez, Jr., Vince Lopez, Mark Cano and Ramiro Vallecillos.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
