CARLOS CASTILLEJA JR.

EDINBURG – Carlos Castilleja Jr., 69, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg, after a long battle with Colorectal Cancer.

Carlos will be remembered for his lifelong career as a vacuum truck driver through out the South Texas Oilfield Wells, from 1979 to 2024.  You will always be remembered as the hard working man and father.  Your favorite saying "Hammer Down" will resound in our hearts.  We will deeply miss you.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and San Juana Castilleja Sr.; and brother, Juan Salinas.

Mr. Castilleja is survived by his wife, Olga Castilleja; four children, Cynthia (Victor) Vergel, Carlos Castilleja III, Ricardo Castilleja, Eduardo R. Castilleja; two grandchildren, Caden Castilleja, Geovanna Castilleja; five siblings, Rene Salinas, Rebecca Riojas, Noe Salinas, Maria Olga Garza, and Ricardo Castilleja.

Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
