EDUVIGES "DUBE" CANTU
SAN JUAN - Eduviges “Dube” Cantu, 87, peacefully went to meet the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Cantu was a lifelong resident of San Juan and a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. She retired from PSJA ISD with 25 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Aristeo Cantu Sr., one brother, Julian Martinez and one sister, Juanita Singleterry.
Dube is survived by five children, Aida (Johnny) Segovia of Plymouth, Iowa, Mary Helen Garza of Pharr, Josie (Aaron) Garcia, Rosie (Roy) Robles, Aristeo Cantu Jr., all of San Juan; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five siblings, Jose Fidencio Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Isabel Villescas, Roberto Martinez, all of San Juan, Luis Martinez Jr. of Lena, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
