RAFAELA “FELA” L. CANO
SAN JUAN – Rafaela “Fela” L. Cano, 92, died Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Colonial Manor in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Cano, Sr.; a daughter, Thelma Alaniz; a son, Javier Cano; her parents, Alejo De Leon and Inez Rodriguez; two sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Cano is survived by her eight children, Ricardo (Cathy) Cano of Wichita, Kansas, Benancio (Ofelia L.) Cano of Edinburg, Ruben (Alicia) Cano of McAllen, Sylvia Cano, Josi (Bryan †) Davis, Manuel Jr., (Ofelia S.) Cano, Jaime Cano, all of San Juan, Rene Cano of Dallas; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanca Arreola of Matamoros, MX, and Alicia Diaz of Pharr.
The family would like to thank her caregiver, Luz Maria Macias for the extra special care and love that she provided for our mother.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, January 5, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
