Candelario Guerra, Jr., 86, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

He was a lifelong resident of San Juan and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Candelario is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Fructoza Guerra; and five siblings, Homero Guerra, Valdemar Guerra, Inez Rosas, Hilda Guerra, and Prajedis Rene Guerra.

Mr. Guerra is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria Guerra; three children, Patricia (Daniel) Salinas, Ronnie (Martha) Guerra, Rudy C. (Sara) Guerra; five grandchildren, Matthew Jacob Guerra, Lauren Elizabeth Guerra, Madison Ariana Guerra, Morgan Alyssa Guerra, and Evelyn Hernandez.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Monday, June 29, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
