ESTHER A. CANALES
EDINBURG – Esther A. Canales, 65, was born on April 25, 1943 and entered the pearly gates to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
Mrs. Canales was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of her life. She was very active with the Hidalgo County Elections Department and the Wood Men of the World Camp RGV. She was a member of Trinity Worship Center in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Abel “El Ronco” and Corina Martinez; and her grandson, Fernando “Fernie” Luna Jr.
Mrs. Canales is survived by three sons, Arnulfo (Beatrice) Canales Jr. of Edinburg, Rolando (Prissila) Canales of San Benito, and Eric (Imelda) Canales of Edinburg; a daughter, Jeannette Canales of Edinburg; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marina A. Gonzalez of McAllen and Norma (Fred) De Leon of Edinburg.
Esther is walking on the streets of gold and celebrating her 66th birthday and will always be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm chapel service today, April 25, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at a later date at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
