CONSUELO G. CANALES SAN ANTONIO/PHARR – Consuelo G. Canales, 94, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012, at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. Consuelo was born on February 15, 1918 in La Rosita Ranch. She and her husband Zaragosa had lived in Pharr for many years before becoming ill and moving to San Antonio with their daughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Zaragosa Canales; two sisters; four brothers; and her parents Isiah and Rosa Garza. Consuelo is survived by three daughters, Alma (Steve) Espinoza of Waco, TX, Yolanda Canales of San Antonio, TX, Ludy Canales of Austin, TX; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 3, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
